A very good basic watercolor studio to start out on this new art medium.
A very clear and concise read . Great advice on getting started with the right supplies and without breaking the bank. Lots of great tips and information. I would recommend this book highly
Seems a first rate book, but would be better in the print version. Some of the illustration's would be more useful in print on paper. Otherwise a useful book.
I read this book in two stages and will read again ,excellent source of information. I wish I had this years ago when first started oils, and other media . More examples would had been nice, but then this way leaves a desire to experiment. thank you for sharing.
This book is a perfect starter volume for watercolor newcomers. The author is clearly very knowledgeable -- and offers great advice. Recommended shopping and supply lists are awesome and refer readers to generally accessible products. I did, in fact, take away some good information from the book. For future reference, as a writer and editor, I would recommend a little better organization and creating chapters -- or at lest sub-titles of sections, to help guide the reader. Thanks Matthew for creating such a great resource for watercolor artists.
Excellent information for new and old watercolorists. I think as new artists we all tend to want to buy more than we need. Matthew's shopping lists are a good guide for getting started without overspending. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars were the typos. A proofreader would have been a good investment! Also, it would have been nice to have some separation, as in chapters for different topics.
All in all, I would highly recommend this book!
